Anne Anderson studied Psychology at the University of Glasgow where she later obtained a Ph.D. for her research on text comprehension in adult native speakers. Subsequently, she was involved in research projects at the University of Edinburgh, but has now returned to the University of Glasgow where she holds a lectureship in Psychology.

As well as having written widely on her various research interests she has also been awarded grants from the Scottish Education Department and the Economic and Social Research Council to investigate listening and communication skills.

She is co-author of Listening published by Oxford University Press.
