Marianne Celce-Murcia is Professor of Applied Linguistics and Teaching English as a Second Language at the University of California, Los Angeles.
She has taught abroad in Nigeria, Canada, and Egypt, and has presented lectures, workshops, and short courses in many countries, including Mexico, Brazil, Costa Rica, Japan, Singapore, Italy, France, Hungary, and Israel.
Her publications, which are directed primarily at pre-service and in-service teachers of ESL/EFL, reflect her interest in describing and teaching English grammar and English pronunciation.
Marianne has served as an elected member-at-large on both the TESOL and AAAL Executive Boards. She has also been a member of the TESOL Quarterly's editorial board and is currently serving in that capacity for the journal Applied Linguistics.
