Professor Barbara Seidlhofer read English and Italian at Vienna University where she qualified as a secondary school teacher. She holds an MA and PhD in Applied Linguistics from London University. She has taught German in the UK and currently works as a researcher and Professor in Linguistics and Methodology in the English Department at Vienna University.
Barbara Seidlhofer is editor of Controversies in Applied Linguistics, co-editor of Principle and Practice in Applied Linguistics, and co-editor of Pronunciation in the series Language Teaching: A Scheme for Teacher Education. All are published by Oxford University Press.
