Overview
Helping learners build their vocabulary
Date: 12th April 12:00-13:00, 16:00-17:00 EST (UTC-5)
Speaker: Philip Haines
Many languages have vocabularies that stretch to the hundreds of thousands, and this is no less true of English. Such a situation can make the teaching and learning of vocabulary seem a daunting task. However, research into how vocabulary is learned and advancements in word lists can help teachers and learners make decisions about which words to focus on and how to go about learning them.
