Oxford Online Practice impact study

Oxford Online Practice keeps students learning outside the classroom through interactive activities with instant automated marking and awards, video and audio content aligned to the course, and a skills area to review progression. It allows teachers to create classes, enrol students, assign practice, review reports and communicate via the messages function and discussion board.

An impact study* was conducted to gain an in-depth understanding of how teachers perceive Oxford Online Practice to affect students' engagement with learning English outside the classroom. Participants were teachers who have been teaching with Oxford Online Practice for over six months.

* An impact study is research that investigates a particular change or outcome that a product or service has on the group of people it is intended to help or benefit.

Found to have a positive impact on students' engagement with learning English outside the classroom.

Key findings:

  • 96% of teachers who participated perceived that using Oxford Online Practice has had a positive impact on students' engagement with learning English outside the classroom.
  • Participants agreed that Oxford Online Practice improves students' engagement with learning English outside the classroom through improving their:
    • Focus when learning (94%)
    • Sense of ownership (93%)
    • Enjoyment of learning (92%)
  • 96% of teachers who participated perceived that the features in Oxford Online Practice help improve students' engagement with learning English outside the classroom.
