What is the Oxford Test of English?
An affordable personalized test that fits you and your students. 100% online, it’s flexible, fast and available at Approved Test Centres worldwide. Plus, it’s the only language proficiency test certified by the University of Oxford.
The test consists of 4 modules: Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing. They can be taken or re-taken together, on their own, or in any combination.
The test is aligned to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) across 3 levels: find out whether your students are at A2, B1, or B2.
The test is available all year round, takes 2 hours, and can be booked with 7 days’ notice. Listening and Reading results are available on test day, while Speaking and Writing results are ready within 14 days.
The only language proficiency test certified by the University of Oxford. Students’ results are valid for life and recognised around the world.
Two versions to choose from:
The Oxford Test of English has been developed for learners aged 16+ and the Oxford Test of English for Schools is recommended for 12-16 year olds. The only difference is that the Oxford Test of English for Schools is tailored to suit the interests and experiences of younger test takers.
Both tests are endorsed and certified by the University of Oxford, and students receive the same Certificate of Proficiency.
